The Adventist Health hospital in Hindsdale, IL wanted a hanging sculpture for a featured spot in its newly renovated facility. Because the supports were already built in the ceiling, this work needed to be light while still appearing massive. The result is a cascade of aluminum leaves appearing to be falling to the ground in soft natural colors.

The technique of using aluminum shapes made with a CNC and then formed into a 3-dimensional design works well with environments that are completed without structures  or blocking in place to support a fully weighted sculpture. There are many variations on this theme, as pictured below:
